Are You Too Busy To Eat Healthy?

Updated: Jul 27, 2023

Are You Too Busy To Eat Healthy? Here is the TRUTH

There is a crisis in this country. People are so busy that they don’t have time for their health. Not just their overall health, but specifically their Nutrition. Most people claim they don’t have time to sit down and eat REAL food, let alone a home-cooked meal. This is a real problem. We fill our schedules with 12-hour workdays, extra-curricular activities, and so many sports for our kids we can’t see straight. All for what? To say we are “busy”? But at what cost? You exchange your health and your child’s health for a spot on the football team, or the gymnastics team. You feed them fast food so they can practice a sport for a few hours. Yet, with all the sports and extra activities, there are more kids that are overweight, tired, not sleeping well and have low self-esteem. Where are the sports taking them? Maybe to college, but most likely not.

What Needs To Change

I don’t think anyone would disagree that our children and young adults need to know basic life skills. These basic life skills include knowing how to make good eating choices. They need to know what is good to eat and what isn’t and why. They need to know how to cook, how to plan, and how to manage their time. It is our job as parents and caretakers to show them this. But what we have been doing is teaching them that we can just eat what’s fast, easy, or in a bag. We don’t need to worry about what’s going on in our bodies because we have the practice to get to. But what we put in when we are children and teens catches up fast. Do you want your children to struggle with their weight, health problems, low self-esteem, and depression? These are minor issues compared to the health problems fake food causes in adulthood.

Final Facts

If you are too busy to eat healthy then It’s time to step up. Reprioritize your time and your activities. Back to the basics of eating meals at regular times, cooking your breakfast and dinner, and packing your lunch. Chew on this fact- 88% of Americans are considered metabolically unhealthy. This includes obesity, (external and/or internal fat), type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, hormone dysfunction, and immune dysfunction. Undoing a lifetime of bad eating habits and obesity is hard. So hard, in fact, most don’t do it and pay the consequences. For generations. Do your family a favor and start making some tough choices. Choices that may feel inconvenient, uncomfortable, and difficult, but over time will yield the fruit of good health. You and only you have the power to change what you eat and what your kids eat. Don’t be a part of the 88%. Don’t make excuses. Excuses will always be there. Your health won’t. Instead, be a part of the 11% of Americans who have taken control of their health, own their decisions, and haven’t let their excuses dictate their food choices.
